The magnificent Silky Rosegill (Volvariella bombycina)

images captured at the same time over a 24hr period at Hampstead Heath, north London.

Turkey oak stump that is also colonised by Fomes fomentarius and the Ganodermas of the resinaceum and applanatum flavours.

Bit of a scary lean on that one mark. Does it have a full canopy?

 

 

Tons of die back and as you mention a fair lean.

 

Sounded the roots with a rubber hammer and things sounded amiss.

 

Planning on getting a resistograph in so we can work out the best way to bring her down.

Carefully with a mewp I'd say on that 1,, if you can post up the resulting images from the test as I find them quite interesting.
