Found this at the base of a Douglas fir today. Very wet and rainy so the bracket was quite wet when I took the shot. 

 

I am not sure if it is Gloeophyllum sepiarium or Inonotus cuticularis or something completely different. 

 

Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Have you ruled out Heterobasidion
