They're about £65 - £70 new, so dunno if £37.50 is good or bad?

 

Bad I'd say- they're over ten years old already.

Look out for building works where they're re-tiling the roof, or someone having stone paving put down. The crates they use are top banana, and if you go to your cheapest garden place and get some tree stakes you can secure them into the corners upright with screws. A roof and some slatted sides to keep the rain off but let the wind through, and you're done Just don't hit a hidden damn nail with your saw when cutting a side off for access like I did

People that use IBC's. How do you empty them? I can't see anyway of tipping them out using pallet forks. Do you have to empty by hand?

I have a pallet rotator on the forklift but you need to be careful that the pallet is not going to break as you rotate. You can get a support bar if your pallets are liable to break although it did not come as standard with my rotator.

i know a apple farm that has got these and some made out of about 18mm ply wood if i remember right when they bought them i know they bough 1000 and they whorked out 12 pound each they have got some that made out of heavy duty plastic that they dont use anymore

When you say potato crates, do you mean the chitting trays? These are the trays that the potatoes are stacked in to sprout before planting. We bought a load of these at auction last year, 10 for £30. The trendy mob are pushing the price up on these products these days.
