hi all. i remember seeing a document with different unimogs on giving weights and payloads etc. can anyone help?

 

also were all of the 406 petrol?

 

and whats the difference between military spec and ag spec? cheers :)

the one thing you need to take into account is the actual weight of the mog that your running - we run a u1600 with a chip box that's heavier than the stuff produced by the likes of atkinson vos so we have to use a lighter chipper to enable us to carry ore chip , also you will need to consider which springs your running and whether or not your mog has anti role bars fitted.

IME, torque converts tend to be in mogs used as tugs for moving aircraft etc, which would include those used on military air fields, but the normal military mogs, such as 1300L's used as personal carriers, were not fitted with torque converters.

 

The disadvantage of military mogs, is that they tend not to be ag spec, so don't usually have linkage or PTO's, so they are not really much use for tree work, IMO.
