Been using one of these helmets for a couple of months ( ground work) I really cant fault them, was a bit concerned at the size of vent holes which seemed to let a lot of rain in, realised after a while that they can be closed. (doh) Only sweat in the helmet is on the forehead band, rest of head stays dry.

Not cheap but well worth the extra cost.

Well, I've had my Protos for a few months so I thought an update would be good, especially as the weather is about to change from cold to hot, maybe.

It's a bit boring actually as nothing has changed. The helmet is still very comfy and I've found nothing about the design that is irritating. The little clip/flap thing on the back has been flipped up by a branch three times in total so that is not a concern.

I've worn it in pouring rain and did not find that rain passed through due to the little shapes surrounding the vent holes.

I found the ear muffs fairly easy to manoeuvre at first and after more practice they are extremely easy.

So yes, I'd still recommend one above all other helmets.

but the ventilation is better than all other helmets.

Not enough as it is imho.

I ripped off, ahum I mean misplaced, the sliding top cover... I know, I know, shouldn't have done that. Compliant bladibla... But the amount of 'ventilation' holes almost doubled.

Not that I had to use that much excessive force btw.

Now that you've 'misplaced' the cover, can it be put back on or did it 'slide' off permanently?

😱😄
