Didn't do too badly on the dorset/south style but apparently i cut far too much out. The hedge was about 15 years old though. Not much billhook work but my hedge was apparently the most stock proof as it was so thick. I was told that that there was room for improvement but as i said to the assessor i'm not a professional hedgelayer, i just lay the hedge and weave it in. Asthetics don't matter to me.

Proper job DHL, does laying beech pose any extra problems? I've never tried it but would have thought it be more likely to break off more so than thorn or other species.

Hi all

thanks dave28

ref beech always been ok even the twisted & knotted in stuff like in some other pic's I have on here somewhere (I think anyway) that all went down fine, the Laurel 1 I did that went fine as well, surprised.

HS well ref Henstridge once you had walked through the shin deep water over the field to ya peg it was ok, as it only came up to ankles along the hedge :laugh1:, and yes it P***d down. no placing this time around:thumbdown:. luck of the draw.

Matt path up the side of Brewers Arms heading towards either Rew lane or on up to main Dorch/Bridport rd.

Had web page refreshed/up dated, just got to figure out how to drive it now

many thanks Damon, [email protected]

Dorset you would have been well at home on the island the bank was higher than that. and laying south of England. have to come down new season and do some Dorset style to learn how to lay on top of a bank. need ice grips on boots:thumbup: so the bit you had was not good either luck of the draw. judges never take into acount the bit you have is crap so will not be a silk dress when finished. but thats comps and judges. just need to smile at them and offer to buy them a coffee.
