I would put a wanted request onto the classifieds.

 

I would look at the dealers selling new ones, they often have used machines coming back in exchange.

 

How big a machine do you want?, what sort of budget did you have in mind ?. Dont forget you will need to power it and feed it. A loading rack is a good idea, saves a lot of lifting.

Hi all, like Markus i was thinking of buying a processor but was slightly concerned about the maintenance and there possibly could be alot to go wrong if you were unlucky enough to get a bad machine. I have a 14t Multec hydraulic splitter, how would it compare with a processor if i got another Multec and ran the two together (tractor has two spool valves ). I currently use pallet toes on the tractor to remove around a dozen full logs from the lorry load and saw them into 9 inch lengths from the tractor loader, and then deal with the 4 foot lengths in the middle later. The sawn 9 inch lengths have to be tossed onto a trailer manually. Do you think this system could be as cost effective as a processor? Thanks in advance.
