Heras Fencing

Heras Security Fencing does anyone on here use them as a secure log store ?

 

We have a problem of logs going missing . Its really only to stop people just helping themselves as most of the time the yard has people about . Just thinking about making 2 cages out of 12 heras fence panels and welding them up so only one panel moves for access purposes . Will sort a roof out in a few months .

I put a scaffold cage up first and fitted the heras fence to that, no welding on galvanished as its toxic. You can put in cross braces to stop the thing spreading. Put a tarp over the top, job done.

You can get recessed heads for the clamp bolts and wind the nuts on the inside makes it difficult to get a spanner on and not worth the effort for log fairies .

I put a wooden 3"x2" frame over my heras cages with a 2nd hand wriggly tin roof overhanging by 9", ridged along centre, it works perfectly, logs bone dry, I found tarps eventually leak or blow away. Got two wildlife cams pointing towards it as firewood disappears and I don't want to go to prison for beating the wrong thieves.

Ok I'll come clean, I didn't want to share the length of the 3"x2" 's, I was hoping to patent a timber length just for this then try and market them specifically for the job. You went and ruined it didn't you! Now everyone will be trying to guess the optimum length and ill be wishing I never gave my ideas away for free ...again:biggrin:

I'd stick to landscaping if I was you. The operating costs are much lower than running a tree business, C_HANATEC131

which means the profit margin is higher.

 

 

I agree. Kinda wish I'd been introduced to Landscaping instead of Arb work.

Much easier and more profitable for less hassle.

If you are outside and only doing a bit then don't worry about it. There's a lot of horror stories but it's very rare anyone gets affected unless they are doing it all day long in an enclosed area, a few tacks in an outside environment you will not get any problems.
