Does it have to be abroad? I have spent many happy summers in cornwall at trevone campsite, £5 a night (doesn't matter how many people you have with you, if you have 6 people in your family, you still pay £5) - It's simple, has toilets and a couple of taps. You can have a fire., there's always cool people staying there and a mile from 2 of the best beaches in cornwall.

£35/week for the family is not too bad :)

If it HAS to be in another country, try the south west coast of France, near Dune du Pyla. We were there in july and it was beautiful weather, massive sandy beaches and clear water (good for surfing aswell!).

Good cycling through the forest that backs onto the beaches.

We did it real cheap last time an hope to do same again. We stayed in a cheap basic caravan so cheap to start with, reasoning being that we only use the caravan for sleeping and a couple of meals. If out every day dont need a flash caravan. All in think cost a grand for two weeks, food included and the cost of driving from e yorks to s france an back. Was a brill experience! !
