good loppers

need a good par of loppers, not parrot beak, or anvil want a straight blade on to a straight anvil. liddles do them and cracking tool. but does anyone know where you can get a profesianal pair. looked but all bypass or parrot. want them for cutting hazel top two do not always cut clean and leave tears. any advice please

Best ones iv'e used were fisakars power gear anvil

They look cheap nasty & plastic handles but they cut with little effort though larger diameter stuff than you would think they would never be able to tackle & they leave a clean cut

 

Loads better than C.K tools & corona ones I have. :sneaky2:

As face cord says the Fiskars are cracking though I have to say I only have the bypass ones but with the same gearing mechanism.

I also have Bahco bypass loppers and they last years. I think most people go for bypass over anvil because the gardening literature tells them that anvils damage the tissue more than bypass ones so you will probably find less experience of anvils.

Can I ask why you're so fussy about the finish - it is hazel after all - ? For cosmetic reasons?
