Nice work! but like steve said...Bolts don,t look heavy duty enough for the rest of the Rig...welding it may have been a better idea...

 

looks like a Ally cast to me, if it is you wont weld it to steel any sense.

 

bolts should be ok, guessing they are original fitting points for winch!

 

takes alot to snap bolts flush fitted like they are.

ha bolts ? nah mate there 5 8mm stainless its not really got much to do with how big theye are its the friction between the winch and the base plate the sheer strenght of them bolts are more than 10 tone you cant put bolts any bigger in the winch thats the size .pretty much you have to think the winch for the grcs is desighned for sailing. base plate works well i have an original grcs .and to be onest the home made one works better
