As I look at my 10 year old 036 in the garage I can't help but feel immense respect for it. It has never ever gone wrong, nothing, nowt, diddly squat. I think it's had the carb adjusted once in all that time (and a sprocket). It's been flung through the air after being pinched and the tree pulled over, had trees land on it etc etc and it just carries on without even a scratch or murmur. I'm informed the MS361 is as near as damn it the same less a couple of cc's and higher revving. I felt a 20" was too long; 16" or 18" suit it best IME. Perhaps the holiest saw ever made...!

Classic saw, like the 036 and MS360 were/are... Unbreakable in my experience. If I was only allowed one saw this would be it.

Ditto. Twice.Best saw i ever bought. Stihl got rid of their "old chugger" image with that saw imo. (upped speed from 12000rpm to 13000rpm on that range i believe):thumbup:Had mine since they appeared, have 16" and 20" bars. Awesome.:001_smile:
