Tried out a zigzag today.

Recommended Posts

Ahh ok self tend as in like how the petzl pantin does it. I have to manually feed the rope until about 8 foot up then it no longer needs my hands shoving rope through it. I get it now.

I too am just learning the terms :) Cheers muckers.

When we used it in a tree at Kingswood training we had no problem getting it to self tend.:001_smile:

Ooops meant to ask a few things and forgot mate, sorry:001_rolleyes:

Anyway, what types of rope were you using and did you find it to self tend on its own or did you have to guide the line or compress the zigzag as mentioned by someone else earlier on?

If it did need a bit of attention did it still need it when there was a good bit more rope beneath it?

Thanks.

Which sling would you recommend? I have recently got a zigzag and really like it! But would defiantly prefer to try using a sling to get the distance! Thanks

Sorry for the late reply.

I have been using this 60cm sling Lyon Protective Sling with a treeflex harness.

It allows me to get a full reach reach on pulling and I can just about reach the top of the zigzag. If you have a longer bridge it may be just too long but then I am only 5 foot 7 so it does depend on your arm length etc :001_smile:

We also have them available in 18mm with no protective sheath which is a fair bit cheaper Lyon Webbing Sling
