Here's my latest splitter- knowcked it up in the workshop last week and been using it all afternoon, no faults as yet and certainly much quicker than the hydraulic one i have. Big plus point for me is running it at a convenient height so you're not bent double all day long...

Really do sujest you get a shorter shaft and mount it on the arms properly before something snaches and yuo regret it it may well never happen but you sure will regret it if it did !

 

I agree, and having it on the 3pl would also mean you could have it on a much nicer working height.

BalFor (RIKO) A11 - 11 ton, 9hp Subaru. Never given a moments bother; done well over 600 ton of rings upto 30" over the past 3 years. Will run all day on a tankful (~5 litres) = 10m3 average.
