XP or XPG 550 or 560 Husqvarna?

If you are of a light frame stay with the 550 as you'll probably find the 560 a handful if not IMO the 560 is the way forward .. I really rate that saw!

been using 560xp for 4 months now on 15 inch on 325 and 3/8 keep it on 325 it will cut faster. you dont want or need heated handle once you are working . a bit of a pig to start if you run it dry , but a good saw for the pro. you can cut a big tree with 15 inch

XPG get too hot IMO. If your using a saw enough for the heated bars to actually heat, then your using it enough for your body to be hot through pure hard work!

 

560 is a nice saw but too heavy for everyday stuff, but again it depends on the job. If your felling medium sized hardwoods then the 560 running an 18 inch bar would be idea. I would always go for the lightest saw you can get away with.

 

My 550 with a 15 inch bar is cracking. I only use a bigger saw if I have to, I never want to!

 

550 is a joy to use.

only been using my 560 a week but i love it, just chucked an 18" on it to drop a few bigish alders on't marsh and it chewed thru them so quick it was funny my mate's month old 261 running a 15 was snail paced in comparison

Try pumping th primer a few times more than you usually do, set half throttle (not choke) and it should go first or second pull

 

Mine gets run dry 9 times out of 10 and once sussed is never a problem.

ok will try that chris when started after running dry its as if its a bit rich aswell rev it a couple of times and it is fine still like it though

At first I used to manage to flood mine fairly often but then sussed it and all good.

I'm going for the 560xpg only cause I got one today. I can see the heated handles coming in to there own on the lovely Scottish winters that we get. It's on an 18inch bar running 3/8ths so the same as my 390xp so if I lose a few teeth I can get the loop cut down for the 560
