Hello everyone, fantastic site hope im writing in correct place! I have managed to seize stihl 880 to due wrong mix student made unknown to me! i have managed to strip and piston came out without having to force. It has picked up on bore but looks like bore has not been scored just got ally from piston skirt (welded) to bore. I am thinking it could be rebored and then ive been told it will need nitriding! I am currently in kent, Any advice on if you think this is feasable or where i could take it would be greatly appreciated. To make matters worse i had borrowed it. Will sort my profile soon when ive got used to site, computers not really my thing! Thanks in advance, marmalade:thumbup:

Unless things have changed while I wasn't looking, the bore will be Nicasil plated, not nitrided. You wouldn't rebore, just strip the plating and replate, but I can't find anyone in the UK who is prepared to repair them (I am working on a way of doing this). I'm also not aware of any aftermarket ones.

The good news is that Spudulike does have quite a good recovery rate so long as the plating isn't damaged, so you may only need a new piston.
