Mowing comes to a end at the end of October all though we still use the big mowers for leaf collecting through November. Clients are not stupid and know when the grass stops growing you do not want them to think you are doing things needlessly. The bulk of our work then becomes hedge laying tree work logs plus through out the year we try to save things like fencing for the winter.

all of the above

plus, we then offer our regular customers monthly tidy ups, inc. leaf collecting, snow shifting etc.

about 50% of our customers will take this up

you're not making a fortune, just paying the wages, saves having to lay staff off over the winter

i agree totaly things quieten down but you still have things to do fencing fruit tree pruning garden renovations etc you just need to work harder at it and plant the ideas of what needs doing in customers head they think things stop to but in actual fact if you put your mind to it there is always something you can do in the garden

Hi all i have a small mowing and maintainance business and i was just wondering when you all put your gear away and stoped advertising ?.Also what do you all do through the winter months Thanks Atb Roy

We work in the turf industry too. We've tried a few sidelines, including selling logs, but nothing has seriously developed. Unfortunately, you just have to diversify and experiment in the winter as work dries up.
