so far so good with the zermatts. breaking in nicely, really comfy for walking round in, more so than the airstreams, they are a bit wider but feel chunkier and the grip is better, still getting plenty grip in all the places i would expect it and more, on a slippery banking today and i didnt expect them to be as good as they were, so far seem worth the money!

Got my zermatts today cheers jonsie . So I have only had them one day but liked the way they felt with my climbing spurs also they were very nice when dragging brush and moving logs about no slips or trips at all they feel very supportive around the ankle . They feel very alien to where like clogs but very light :confused1: I will give them a bit longer and report back.:001_cool:

Haven't they got vibram soles?

All vibram sole boots I have ever owned have been treacherous on wet wood.

Are the Zermatts ok on wet wood?

yes slippy on wet wood ,ex boot though ,had mine 3 yrs now and very comfy.

soles are starting to wear now and would have liked a different sole to the vibram,

when new you feel like herman monster clumping around till they break in

Your description is right .... But they bed in and will become your best friend !!! Maybe because u was used to the even harder wearing Tirol fighter Pfanner boots that I found the zermats easy to break in ... Even so they are an awsome climbing boot IMO

My boots have just about broke in and now feeling nice and comfy going to get a leather brush today to keep them nice and was wondering what to treat them with what's as good as the of pfanner stuff would millets have something suitable for this .

i used some leather/suede/nubuck protector on mine and soaked them with it. Made by Kiwi, can pick it up in tesco or any outdoor shop.

mine are super comfy, almost fully broken in still feel a bit stiff but loosening nicely and great for climbing in.
