Ho much do you pay to insure tools against theft? Need insurance on 2 chippers, 1 grinder, saws, etc. Been quoted nearly 900 which seems quite a lot. What do other people pay and who with?

I was quoted about £650 from Trust last year. That was for about £20k of cover. Market value for Chipper and new for old on chainsaws. I thought that was a little steep but will have to look into getting cover again with all these posts of thefts.

Usually about 10% of value seems to be the going rate can depend on what and where you want the cover, care most company’s only insure when tools are in a secure place:sneaky2:

i think you get what you pay for,i pay 600 quid a year which seemed a lot until all my saws and hedge trimmers were stolen last Wednesday night, the replacements arrived yesterday and i was back to work today i cant recommend clear insurers(formerly bryant kesek) enough and the underwriters Zurich were great to

hey matt

 

my tools insurance is 1400. thats for 1 qaudchip, 3 grinders, my boxer 427 skidsteer. saws and climbing/rigging kits on a new for old basis
