chazzer, he should not be employing you to fell without your tickets. I have no doubts as to your abilities, I know of others who have grown into the business. But without tickets, he could get into a whole world of trouble with the H&S guys. If he is a friend, he will understand the importance of doing things properly, he shouldnt want to see you get hurt either. I also you are not working alone in the woods, for your sake. As a 16 year old, though you can take your tickets, there are other considerations that must be looked at, you are still a minor in the eyes of the law, this means you need more looking after than an adult, and again his responsibilities are higher because of this.

I don't want to put you off, get ticketed, get a proper job with a proper set up, or go to college and study the trade. ArborVenture Training have an excellent track record and reputation, by the way. :thumbup1:

At £25 per day I wouldnt call them a friend. How much fuel would you use between 7 - 5?

Tell him to look for some other mug.

well, that's a tricky one! i have used 20 liters a day before thats me running a 254xp and a 262xp with a longer bar so it would not cover the fuel although last time he brought 20l for me a day

Whats the chances of getting paid on weight or volume?

weight would be possible but would be allot of extra work as there forwarder doesn't have scales so i would have to load up a sling then weigh it like that on there set of scales and i would be reluctant to do it on volume as its sweet chestnut and they want it for fire wood so most of the smaller stuff will be left behind
