Always wanted to make the trip to NZ but I've never (no matter how long i search) found any sites with the info for finding job vacancies and which visa to apply for.

Would anyone be able to lend some advice on where to look?

Talk to Asplundh or Treescape. Easy entry, they have a quick approval through immigration. Big outfits so you might end up just a number but it'll get you here quick. If you don't like the employer when you're here, as long as you get another employer to take over sponsorship, I.e. offer you a job and prove that they can't get a NZer to do the job, then it's easy to swap over your visa. I believe arborists are still on the skills shortage list. Either of the first two outfits though will offer you decent employment for a start up and there's some good guys work there. Easy.

Oh, and the Visa can be a one, two or three years but if you talk to NZ immigration OR an immigration lawyer, they'll advise you how to do it. You shouldn't need heaps of quals either but experience will count. I believe Asplundh might still have a guy in the UK helping out with the paper work but it was a while ago I heard that. If you're really keen, get on the phone to both outfits or check out http://www.trademe.co.nz under jobs (arborist). If there's nothing that suits, talk to the office people but DON'T email.

Talk to the two companies first and see what they have opportunity wise. They should be able to advise you about the visa process and, if you're, lucky, might even do the paper work. If not, it's relatively easy. Just make sure you have all your paperwork together. Police clearance, medical etc and you'll need to get certified copies of everything. You'll also need the job offer from whoever but both Asplundh and Treescape will be used to it as they employ a lot of arbies from the UK. Because they have a fast track through immigration they shouldn't need to prove that they can't find guys locally and just a case of getting your info off. Best thing to do is ring them. Get the times correct and give them a call. Might also be worth while dropping Will a PM as he works for Asplundh I believe so he should be able to give you some further info.
