found this video. a very awsome yet peacefull.

The fisherman's/sailors song............always evokes strong memories for me,I and most of my family were ex-MN,my mum being ex-Wren also.

At her funeral, some 3 years ago, this hymn was belted out, especially by the 80-90 year old ex-Wren's. Made me shed tears then and still does today :crying:

well.

tonight i will be mostly getting wet, in a force 6 doing 25knts.

out to a flashing strobe 11m out. just a loose marker.

got on the helm on the way back and loved every second, got soaked and im still on a come down from adrenalin.

first real rough weather, one of the lads thinks ive lost it as everytime we hit a good wave i just started laughing.

and the cox said it was the best helming he had seen in a while.

i loved it. now im off for a shower.

Good man! Better view from up there, no splashes on the windscreen. Bit more motion though, but more fresh air to counter any sick feeling.

Best hold on tight in the event of self righting though.

no splashes on wind screen as it just comes straight over the top :laugh1:

and if you dont see it coming you get a facefull as i did a few times last night. but by god i loved it. one of the crew who was standing with me thought i was a psychopath.....:lol::lol::lol:

its all good buddy.

thank you.

it is a moving song when you know the story. a great feet of strength, and the people who turned out to clear 7 miles of snow. wounder if it would happen today?

another one that is very much in a lot of people hearts is the penlee, union star struck rocks and lifeboat launched, it was also this rescue that saw the start of the procedure for a coxwains decision as to to take a man and his son or family out on a shout.

it is very much seen as a no no but this will all depend on the weather and job.

it is a good watch.

I lost family in the Penlee / Solomon Brown disaster; I will transpose a note from my Uncle about it when I get a minute...
