'Little' Shot

I've had a little play with this now, initial results with a standard 10oz throw bag were disappointing in hand held mode, but hooked over the top of a telescopic painting pole exhibited great promise....!

I'm going to have a better fiddle this weekend, I think what I may end up coming back here with is a 30 quid Big Shot style contraption..... Whatever happens it's going to save me a load of bother!!!

Damn it! I was going to try that, if it ever arrives! Now you have beaten me to it and I have one less thing to impress you all with!!!

Seriously, if you ever think of moving to France to live the good life, think hard about your postal needs. 3rd world countries do better!

The thing about throwing is visualise where tou want it to go and try and point your throwing hand at the target as you let go.. It's really easy with a bit of practise and as mark says a decent line and cube makes all the difference.

For really long throws I will double hand .. Start by swinging between the legs letting it feel comfortable and let it go maybe a jump in it tends to make you focus more on what your aiming at... Miss it 5 times and the big shot comes out any way! To be honest I was really crap at throwing but you watch guys who can and then it fills you with confidence and makes you realise a big shot is not really necessary.

VISUALISE schmisualise.....:001_rolleyes::001_tt2: It's circular, Happy... etc etc...

I get it in the tree eventually, but I'd really like to have something in my box with which I could deploy a line where I want it within 1 minute every time, rather than after anywhere between 2 minutes with a good straight throw into an open canopy, and half an hour of finger burning frustration through a tangle of unkempt growth....:blushing::001_tongue:

I think that with some garden shed ingenuity this could well be my bargain bucket solution to the quite astonishingly pricey Big Shot I covet so badly...

It finally arrived today, already in trouble with the wife for shooting apples against the wall, drive-by style from the ride on mower! not tried it for throw line lobbing yet, and tips?

I found that the ideal weight for it is between 6 and 8 oz. So i cut open my 8oz one and turned it into a 6oz. Then stitched it into almost a ball shape to fit the pouch better. Oh and make sure you have a clean line out the front of the slingshot, i learned that the hard way when it caught in the end and swung down and punished me for being such an idiot if you get my meaning. :sneaky2::blushing:

Ouch! Hope the throw bag is still in one piece, sounds like the ultimate game of "conkers"!

I have to be honest that it's launch distance with tennis balls is a bit less that i thought, will try it proper soon.

Ha, yeah im pretty handy with a needle and thread. I was a little disapointed with the distance of a tennis ball but you can always shorten the elastic to get full extent of the power. At the end of the day its cheap and as already said a bit of ingenuity and imagination can go a long way.

We are getting lots of mice in the house with the weather on the turn, so the traps have been out for a few days. Mrs. Lumberjack don't like emptying the traps, so it's my job. Had 2 this morning, nice clean kills, and normally I take them down to the hedge at the bottom of our garden, 30 meters or so, and toss them in the field for mr. fox.

Today though I had an idea! instead of walking across the soaking lawn in a strong drizzle, I decided to launch micky and miney to their final resting place.... Micky went fine, straight out the window, and just cleared the hedge by a foot or so. Figured on a bit more power for Miney as I didn't want her to fall short and get " Abused" by the dogs, so pulled back to full reach, and...... miss fire! She hit the window reveal at mach 3, leaving a bloody stain the size of a 50p. Wife regrets me getting Hyperdog despite me telling her its a tool for work! Women!

I was using it today, with 8oz throw bag. All you need to do is shorten the elastic tubing a bit so you get the full extent of the power. Also if the tree aint too hairy with epicormic growth you can get away with a lighter bag to get the extra height. If all that fails then as you say the pup should be happy.
