I looked at a batch of the “Stihl” clones a while back and I have to say I was suitably impressed.

We gave the “038” a 3 day hammering on the log pile. It stood up to the job admirably. It was so well crafted that the parts were discernable from genuine parts only because they didn’t have the “Stihl” numbers on them.

The 038 is a bit old school for front line work but I would rate them as a logpile saw all day long.

Just be careful what you buy because I am certain there will be some piss poor ones out there.

That's the first one I've seen actually badged as a Husqvarna - but it is definitely one of the Chinese (probably) copies. Bought one meself just for cutting old pallets up recently, and in all fairness, at under £90 delivered from Germany, it wasn't a bad buy, and it does the job admirably. Build quality isn't up to much as you would expect - but certainly no complaints as far as value for money goes at that price.

As far as this ad goes, well someone is definitely taking the p**s with that price. Makes me wonder how some folks sleep at night.

whats wrong with it? It's got "pulley start" and a "panic stop button" and as you can see from the pictures, its not a toy and not for playboys to show off. It can also "cut down" my heating bills.

I'm ordering 5.haha

Move over Stihl and Husqvarna, say hello to 'Ready-Cut' and 'Steady-Saw'!!! Just two of the pile-o-sh1te machines on sale in our local bazaar. Vewy pwofetional sir, vewy pwofetional! "Do they actually cut wood then" I asked, trying to make sure no-one saw me looking (I was actually checking the rumoured junk really existed!)...
