First post from a long time lurker. I have rejuvinated a 181se from 1983 and am pleased that it goes like a dream..... only it does not really oil the bar enough. The bar that is on is an 005 which according to Mike Acres site is a partner/electrolux pattern. I know huskies pattern is 009. They share the same slot size and the hole position is similar (005 holes are elongated) I can't tell if the oil hole is in the right place. Anyone help?

Apply a light smear of grease to the mating face on the saw, clean out any that goes into the oil delivery slot.

 

Now offer the bar to the saw and remove it. The grease will have left a witness mark on the bar and you should be able to see where the oil feed meets the bar.

The bar you need for a 181 is as follows using 3/8 1.5mm [.058] 73LPX chain

 

First two digits are the inches length so 13, 15,16, 18 or 20" then use

 

8SLHD009

 

so for a 15" bar it's 158SLHD009 or an 18" its 188SLHD009.

 

These are Oregon part numbers and any sponsor on here can supply that bar and chain.

I have just done a smear of copperslip on the saw around the oil port and pressed the bar on. The hole in the bar only mates with half of the saw oil port. This could be reducing the flow

I had found the correct oregon part numbers for bars appropriate to the saw but on closer examination found the bar i have is numbered 208SLHD005. I mis read the 5 as a 9 to start with until I put my specs on!

Les has given the part number you need - but I think you read correctly the first time it's 009 on the end!

What I am really trying to find out is this is (using Oregon part numbers) a bar 208SLHD005 Which is on my saw, see photos, the same as a 208SLHD009 which is the actual part number recommended by everyone. The 005 bar fits but i havn't worked out if it is reducing the oil flow. I'm trying to eliminate things before replacing the oil pump and buying a new bar

I stand corrected!

 

Found this on another forum:

 

Husky mounts are not the same until you get to the very small saws. As I posted earlier Huskys from 61 through 3120Xp take the same mount. The old Oregon mount is D005 (9.5mm slot) The new Oregon mount is D009 (9.0mm slot) The old small saws 34, 35, and 37 take an open slot bar #AO64. The rest of the mid-range saws should accept the A095/K095/Z095 mount (8.2mm slot). If my memory is correct the difference is not limited to the slot size. the oil holes and chain adjuster holes are different.
