Thanks Genset.

Do you remember we fell out fairly badly a couple of years ago over my 'why not sell a stacked cube' thread. We had Sweden involved and everything.

That's not why I had a pop now though as I am a bit fed up with these type of arguments about price etc. I work in a low overheads way and it busts my arse:001_smile:

I split by hand and sell about 15 cube, and the folks use about 25 cube burning their burner 24/7 till next september:001_smile:

No I dont remember the stacked cube thread or falling out. If you enjoy producing logs and its not your main income no problem. Which ever way you do logs it should be possible to earn a living wage considering the demand for them. I talk to most of the people selling logs in our local area and have no problem with competition just not keen on subsidising it.

Noticed more over the last few years its impossible to sell logs against people keeping under the radar on the dole during the early autumn. Has anybody noticed after a cold spell they run out then it goes nuts. Unfortunately if its mild all winter its hard to sell a huge stock of logs. With more people on the dole soon I think it may get harder.

i very much doubt doleys will be doing split log unless theve nicked them ready spilt, as its work they dont like work thats why the on the dole spunging !!!!!:laugh1:

I felled some sycamore which were a pain to get down, leaning wrong way etc.

Got em back my place cut and split it. Stacked roughly a cube on pallet and thought to myself I can't charge 60 for that.!!

I feel asthough I do that a lot in general with my work thou and that's probably why I am where I am and not on a yacht somewhere!!
