Need a chassis

For clarification that we need a new chassis here are pics that dad took yesterday.

That looks nearly as much hole as it does chassis :001_smile:

Still reckon save a bit moreand go marslands - you'll not be dissapointed.

It's not a huge job either. Did a 90 in my back garden using nothing more complex than a couple of high lift jacks, a couple of bottle jacks, a stack of wheels/wood/blocks etc and hired an engine crane for a day. Took the equivalent of about 5 days on my own.

Also, it gives chance to replace any of those little bits that are a pig to get at normally while it's in bits.

Another way would be to do as I did, buy a solid second hand one, shot blast, then galv.

Think mine came out £200 for chassis, £100 to blast it and £200 to galv.:thumbup1:

have heard someone say its a false economy as any rust set in inside the rails doesn't really get dealt with so in time they rot out from inside

But if you want a galv chassis for a grand(like Matts Dad), its very good economy!:001_tt2:

Mine has been done near 5 years now and had an endoscope inside it last MOT, and still no signs of rot.

I'd do it again:thumbup:

Timing is everything, not that it probably helps now but there was exactly what you're after on one of the salvager stands at Eastnor the other week... if we could track down a site plan and exhibitor list I could tell you who was selling it, they may still have it!

All I can tell you is it was one of these...!
