Hi all, i start a new job in october as an estate worker, as an employee. my mrs has already started hinting that i wont need my hilux any more:thumbdown: so to please her i am looking in to the possibility of another 4x4 that is more economical. i have no real experience outside hilux's so if any of you can open my eyes to other suitable vehicles i would appreciate it.

doesnt need to be a pick up but needs to be reliable and be able to get in and out of muddy woods and have enough boot space for logs, deer etc

secretly im hoping this vehicle doesnt exist as i dont want to part with my battered but much loved old truck....:bawling:

thanks in advance:thumbup:

52 plate hilux with d4d engine 30 -35 mpg the old turbo diesel 23 mpg with mud tyres on

yeah seems about right ive got a 99 turbo diesel with muds, which to be honest i cant really do without, the wealden clay gets pretty sticky!

[iMO hilux is one of the less juicy 4x4 s, suzuki vitara might be cheaper to run,but youll look like a hairdresser /QUOTE]

yeah a hairdressers 4x4 is not an option!!
