I may have put this on before I can't remember, its what we use at the moment for competing. It may not look much like a Land Rover but its a Discovery 2 chassis and running gear with a 4.2 V8 with megasquirt pushing it along. The roll cage and body work is by Malcolm Whitbread in south Wales, he certainly knows his stuff, it is called the Thug for obvious reasons. It is road legal although we do not use it on the road.

Has it been through an IVA test or is it "road legal" as in built on an unmodified chassis retaining it's original parts and on it's original number plate? Even the bob tail Range Rover is not strictly legal if the chassis has been cut, it doesn't bother me either way but I built a chassis for a car and had to go through the test to put it on the road and they are strict not like MOT, a lot keener on sharp edges and sticking out tyres etc. I helped fit a 200tdi into a series 2a which had been rebuilt on a galvanised chassis and the same lad is now doing a 300tdi conversion on a 97 Land Rover which he bought this year. I get to do the wiring usually :(
