Your opinions on the best ropes for SRT?

So is the overall consensus that Yale Kernmaster is a good buy for a static line, but escalator is a good rope in certain techniques, (and it is great for foot locking, thats the only time i've used it and worked like a charm)

Teufelberger Platinum's cover is woven into the core every 60 cm. handy for ripping cam's. It displays a similar static for ascent but dynamic for a fall like Yale's kernmaster.

I've been on Donaghys Cougar Blue for a few weeks. Boy, that is one STATIC double braid. I like it alot!

Ive just bought some 11mm Mammut performance static. not used it yet but will give it a whirl next week. Its supposed to be highly abrasion resistant and very static. We shall see!

Hi guys,

 

Been using the Mammut 11mm for while now and can't fault it. It's a purpose made static line class A rated and 2800 kgs breaking load - much favoured by the caving world (birthplace of the modern IRATA systems) and their safety/accident record is impeccable, well worth a look.

Mammut just arrived today. lovely light feel and I was very suprised with how flexible and malable it is. I thought it would be alot stiffer like many other static/caving/access ropes. So far so good but a big climb will be the proof. I have plans to use for work positioning as well as access.

 

Good to know someone else been using it and likes it as I was just taking a flyer at it really. Ive been using new england tachyon and have found it too stretchy for SRT work positioning.

The title of the thread is Best Rope for SRT?

I was wondering how much influence the SRWP devices have on the different ropes.

For example, the Hitch Hiker works best with Poison Hivee, apparently. Will the RW work more/less efficiently on different ropes? Same applies to the Unicender and RW/ZigZag.

 

At some point I want to get a longer rope but not Poison Hivee if there is a better option.

Unicender works well with any small diameter rope.
