Your opinions on the best ropes for SRT?

Hey guys, and girls,

Looking at buying a new static line and just wanted some opinions and reasons if possible as I've not tried many.

 

Was thinking maybe the New England Escalator (so comments if anyone has this also)

Hey man

 

I use Escalator static line, and it is amazing, I haven't done a lot of climbing on it yet but it is still very nice, It goes like wire under load then when you work it a little bit it softens up and becomes workable. Very easy to rope walker and footlock, the add is true it takes less energy to get to the top

Depends on what length you want really mate some lines are good over short distance but will bounce like mad over longer ones, sterling htp is very good but has a thinnrr diameter if your planning on working Srt, heard goid things about KmIII and yale kernmaster

I picked up 45m of escalator to trial from Treetools

Today so I'm keen as to give it a blast. It feels a very weird rope bit the truth will be in Te climbing. Seems quite stiff and lightweight....

Just reading on the yale website about Kernmaster its the highest rated rope for dynamic schock absorbtion of all their climbing lines, does this mean that xtc which is one of the lowest is more static than kernmaster which is advertised as a static line or am i being thick

Kernmaster is static under low load but dynamic under a shock load or something along those lines bro, it's specs are pretty good but it will be interesting to see how it goes with friction cord. Got some on order so will be interesting to compare with the escalator, normal double braids, globe etc..

Ian uses it with his wrench he would be the man to ask i was thinking of getting some aswell, thats the problem i have found with the wrench is the compatobilty of friction cords to static kernmantle lines

8mm AP seems to work on them for me. It worked well on my 10.5mm marlow at home too.
