My top handle has developed a problem that when you press the throttle it will stall unless you tap the throttle to bring the revs up. Also it will stall on idle, this i solved by re tuning it but after about 5 mins use it goes back to how it was before again. Any ideas what is wrong with it?

Thanks

Try putting a known good carb on it, if it cures the problem it will be the carb:thumbup:

Possibly and air leak but sounds like a leaking accelerator pump in the carb - either time for a replacement one or modifying the carb!

check with your supplier, there was a batch of faulty carbs on the 200's a few years back, if yours is one of those you may get a free carb from stihl? i did despite the saw being out of warranty, stihl provided the carb but i had to pay the supplier to fit it, still worked out cheap tho and saw has worked perfect since.
