Anyone use Japanese tripod ladders?

I bought the 3.6m with adjustable feet and used it for the first time yesterday. and it's brilliantly stable and nice and light.

 

However, I then discovered that the max SWL is 100kg! One of my groundies is 95kg in his birthday suit, the other guy is well over.

 

Do any heavy guys use them and have you broken yours?

100kg seems a bit slim considering a man wearing PPE and holding a big hedge cutter will be using it!

100kg does seem a bit low.

Fortunately we have 2 guys who are about 70kg

Myself- well...........

Bought the 4.8m- scarry at the top.

No clip in and working with tools is I am sure against all the rules.

I assume you got to harness and clip in to the hedge or similar.

We'll find a way.

I use a Henchman but the thing weighs 25kg and just gets heavier as the day gets on...

I think I'll give one of these a go as the Henchman is too tall for some hedges and I am too short to work without a set of low steps.

The great thing about the Henchman is the extendable legs which are really long and usefull.

The poor thing is the awfull comedy price and the build quality which is lower than an NHS crutch.

I can't talk about build quality Ty as I've only just got it but it looks good.

I think you have to be careful because its aluminium but the stability afforded by the design is unparalleled. Being able to stick the front leg in the hedge is a real bonus, as is being able to straddle small shrubs by extending all legs.

 

The SWL worries me.
