Get in a Transit van!

I've got a '54 Transit. The door won't unlock because the key is so badly worn and I've only got one key. I don't know the key code.

Any ideas on how to get in?

It's Saturday evening and I need to get going on Monday morning as I'm hundreds of miles from home in Polzeath!

I realise that the same key is needed for the ignition so even if I get in I may not be able to start the engine.

Very peed orf and stressed out!

Know nothing about Transits, does it have an electric fob or key to unlock? Have you dropped the keys? If so the wee chip in the key may have become dislodged, in which case it wont work. You may be able to undo the key and reseat the chip, but do it over a sheet of white paper in case you drop it and lose it. It may not be obvious which way the chip seats....but Im afraid thats about as much as I can help.

This worked on my LDV.

Rip the rubbers of the quarter light window on the door from the outside. You can then jiggle the window pane over and get yer hand in and open the door.

With all the theft about perhaps a mod should delete this post as soon as you've read it:001_smile:

Aye that works, cutting the rubber off most vans and popping the window out, is the thieves choice in Manchester, nice and easy and nice and quiet
