MS260's a cracking saw and should be just in your price range. You'd probably get a away with something a bit smaller, depends what size of stuff your cutting really.

Sorry if I'm teaching you to suck eggs but it's well worth making sure that it's sharp. You can get away with a smaller saw if its nice and sharp and cutting well.

Hi guys and merry christmas

I am looking for recomendations for a good saw for cutting around 40 cubic metres of firewood per year,i am looking to spend around £300.00,any sugestions?

hi fred,, i would recomend the ms230. i do around 90 m3 a year and its the best one iv used .... iv used larger saws, and tend to find that they use more oil and fuel. not to mention cost of chains and parts..

ms230 for me any day... its light quiet and can be tossed around very quickly.....

Yes of course how silly of me to forget!and a ms260 wont??last time i used one for logging i gave it back in a box of bits!..a ms361 would be nice but a bit too pricey and i prefere more ccs in a logging saw as using them for logging burns them out quicker
