Has anyone got any experience or verdicts on a

Timberwolf TW18/100G Gravity Fed 4 inch Chipper?

Or a bearcat 5" ?

Are they to much work in use ?

Chipper wouldnt have to be large but needs to be towed, and chipper wont be used that much depending on amount of work i could get, just starting out,

majority of main logs i can cross cut and keep, or get rid of,

Or do i pay extra and try and get a timberwolf 125 with roller,

comments appriciated.

Hi. The Timberwolf 18/100 is a great little chipper I started off with one and still have it for job there my Timberwolf 150DHB or Tractor mounted Premier is to big to get in with. The brash has to be trimmed more but on straight timber there quicker than power fed, keep blades sharp and at right angle. And British built.

Ive got the entec version of the TW18, its prob 11 years+ old and it does OK. Its my first chipper and it does get the job done. Struggles with some types of brash - anything with twisted angles, wide unions etc... also not great on anything too small, hedge trimmings and the like, it jams up with stuff that is too small to chip. I've managed with it for a couple of years but am now thinking I ,need to upgrade to something with feed rollers as the work has picked up. As WoodyPaul has said, the right kind of brash and it will whip through it!
