……mine are buggered! They ‘click’ constantly when walking up hills or stairs, not much pain but they don’t sound right!

I’ve been cycling regularly since I was a teenager so I guess they’re worn out…. :confused1:

Speaking from experience sounds like classic wear symptoms but I'm not a medical man - go see one. Likelihoods are 1) worn/scratched meniscus (fat disc of cartilege between upper and lower leg bones; can be scratched smooth again via arthroscopy to give you a few years more normal use: 2) small piece of cartilege floating about inside; dealt with similarly.

This is pure speculation though; get to your GP because if there is something treatable time will only make it harder to deal with.

Good luck and don't fret over it; arbs work their bodies hard so wear and tear is to be expected (I did 20,00 miles on my last bike too).

i had a bad back a few years ago mainly due to to much tractor driving and turning round whil sat down an getting bounced around.

I went to a chiropractor and it made a massive difference, this was a Mctimoney Chiropractor they us speed to move joints around , really quick short sharp flicks, quiet strange feeling but not unplesant. A normal chiropractor just crunches bones around with brute force and ignorance but the Mctimoney was pleasant and well worth a visit if you feel out of shape.

I was told alot of back pain was due to different length legs and this puts the hips out of line and then the spine gets twisted.

Well worth the money if your struggling to work or are in pain

I had severe knee pain and swelling when i was about 13-14 started off with a bike crash. Dr and hospital each told me to rest it..after 7 months of resting and elevating they refered me to a specialist who had it sussed in 1 appointment sorted me some inserts for my shoes and the knee went down and stopped hurting in a week or 2...Really annoying how your GP and most hospital staff just give you the 'don't do anything for 8 weeks or 10 weeks or whatever bullshit when there is a real solution, lost best part of a year of riding and doing any other sport..or being able to bend my knee more than 90 degress 'cos the swelling was so bad!

Board sports (snow, skate, mountain and surf) are bad for collapsing your arches in your feet making you 'flat footed'. i have very low arches, i should really go and see someone about it. it only became a problem after i had been running a while and comuting on my bike (i was doing at least 150 miles a week).

many many years of back pain on and off, then an ambulance job when it got so bad one night at home, took a ton of drugs literally. went to a physio who spotted my problem in 5 mins, my right leg is 4+cm shorter than left leg, so i was always leaning over, compressed the sciatic nerves in my back=mega pain.

I now get all my boots with a 4cm raise on the soles, 99% perfect, no more pain. just some minor discomfort from long day at work.

well worth getting a good physio
