Handed down on a plate.

Recommended Posts

My dad set the company up I joined him full time when I was twenty would of been before but I contract climbed for different firms as my dad told me it would benefit me learning different skills and ways to tackle different jobs from different Tree company's! But really he just didn't want a head strong young lad telling him what to do.. (UNDERSTANDABLE) once I joined him full time we slowly expanded with more work and bigger and better kit. But its all down to my dad and the company will always be named after him.

Now now, that's a tad unfair! Can't you have a bit of both? :thumbup1:

I started out on my own over two years ago and have had a lot of good luck and known the right people at the right time, but I've not had anything handed down to me. But I also wear branded t-shirts, I like my climbing gadgets and will have a waterbottle on my harness if it prevents me having a stomping dehydration headache when I get home!

of course you can. :001_smile:

the 2's know who there are. they will be found in threads like ' pimp my harness' and 'new rope needed to match my helmet & boots'

I started out in 1972 with a bicycle, a bowsaw and a length of washing line. Had to cycle 40 miles each way to site every day, and then do 16 hours for sixpence halfpenny. After 17 years I saved up enough for another bowsaw and that's when I set up my second crew. The rest is history.

You had it easy then. Back in the day I used to cycle fifty mile each way, work twenty hours for a turnip and be glad of it....
