I've worn mine for pretty much everything. Climbing, dragging, hedges, walking the dogs. I'd even considered using them for the Tongariro crossing as they offer better support tham my walking boots. You're right though; tree climbing slippers. Talked a mate into buying a pair. He said he was happy with el cheapos but I told him council was paying so he could have some decent gear. I reckon he wears them to bed personally.

i have fallen asleep with them on once and woke up with very war toasty feet so you could, in theory wear them in bed! But because i have always had to pay for all my kit i want them to last a long time so keep them soley for tree work..as for leaking mine are certainly storm proof and although i have never stood in a puddle i have stepped into a hollow crown break that was a foot deep in rainwater and tree Gunk and there was no leakage whatsoever...

Gutted my airstream boots, purchased at the arb fair just a few weeks back have given me a wet foot today

All i was doing was being on top of a conifer hedge trimming.

I've even been nice to these boots and trying to conserve them by using old knackered boots for stump grinding etc.

There was a small nick in the red bit on the front toe end on the boot when i got them but it's just cosmetic so wasn't bothered.

Deffinetly wet, not sweat! only left foot squelshing...

Gutted :(

How waterproof are these supposed to be? theyre gortex!

Hey Swinney

I have the first pair of Airstreams that came into the UK four & a half years ago. On friday I was stood ankle deep in a stream as well as cutting for a good 5 hours in them. My feet were the only part of me that was still dry. I think this is testament to an awesome pair of boots. Get your supplier to return them to Meindl, they are very not the quickest but they'll sort it out.

G'luck

Nod

PS

It's kind of funny how many people I see wearing these boots considering the disco gay bashing they took when I first started importing them. I guess that quality stands the test of time better than any marketing gimmick?!
