Thanks for your replies sometimes you really think your on your own , the main problem is proving it though weve managed to get it down to 2 suspects - feel a spy cam may be an option

Get your crew together, explain that times are hard and this matter can't just be forgotten ask that the kit gets returned one way or another - doesn't matter if the kit just reappears without knowing the offender. If this doesn't happen, put it in to the hands of the law and call the police in.

It is theft, doesn't matter that it is within a workplace, you need to at least get the insurance to pay up - a grands worth of kit is a grands worth of kit!!!

Your suggestion is spot on. With all the stolen Kit I have seen posted it is double trouble when the missing items may be missing due to personnel.

Follow through, I hope you get to the bottom of this soon.

Could you have a equipment checklist for each vehicle, responsibility of team leader to fill in daily and sign before going out and before leaving site, put a disclaimer on the bottom they have to sign saying any missing kit will be paid for by assignee.

If you know any good actors you could tell the boys they will be having an interview with an expert psychologist trained by Derren Brown who can spot deceit in body language, give the actor a list of questions to ask similar to a lie detector, the thief will be bricking it and stand out a mile from the honest boys :sneaky2:
