Yard Rental

I've never rented a yard before, but have been quoted £75 month for outside facilities suitable for storing and processing firewood in about 5t quantities at a time. The premises concerned are 'proper' as such and are contained in a locked industrial site.

 

Seems awful expensive to me.....what do you chaps do for yards?

I pay £25 a week for a 150m by 20m ( hard standing) with a container on it also I have a small office on there with power. I can dispose any rubbish in there skips the yard is in a gated with a 9ft fence around it.

My proposed yard doesn't have an office or power, just hard standing. The good thing is that it's situated 2 miles from the forest where I get my mixed conifers from, so moving 5t a time won't be hard....Interestingly, there's also sea access in the form of a proper jetty, which might be useful for bulk loads going to the islands...Hmmmmm

Thats a very sensible price in my opinion, i'd snap his hand off if i was you. You can put the cost against tax etc. I have a yard of my own and wouldnt let it a similar area out any less.

Thanks Ben, thats a useful perspective from a landowner...To be fair, the more I think about it, it does appear to be a good deal, the premises has a fair few other businesses on the site and is well established...

thats cheap i pay £10 pounds a week for a 12 by 12feet stable

A good 20ft container is fetching £12.50 a week for cash so it sounds like a bargain to me.

hard to believe you can find any size or sort of yard anywhere for less than £400a month. I dont think I could be bothered to chase £75 a month.
