Ive got one to cut the billets down the cork screw splitter is handy for breaking big logs down. The only poor thing is you cant reach the foot pedal to disengage the drive when operating the splitter so you need to be extra careful

Second hand ones hold there money so i would buy new at least you know the belts and blade are ok. I just need to find an elevator to add to mine and all will be good.

I had one a few years ago for dealing with billets and small roundwood and sold it to get a processor. Wished I'd kept the eagle too as it was a really good little thing. never had much bother with it, seem to think we tightened the belts a few times and other than a leaky seal on the gearbox that was it.

second hand ones don't seem to come up that often and when they do, seem to hold their money fairly well.

If you buy new, go for the TCT blade without even hesitating :thumbup1:

Last year i saw a second hand unit sell for more than a new one! The buyer must not have contacted a distributer to ask for a price new... bonkers...

Since then second hand machines i have found have all retained a superb value.

I would definately only buy one an Eagle new with the TCT blade.
