Which stump grinder

Im looking to buy a stump grinder, my budget is £6-7k

 

What would you recommend?

 

What should I stay away from?

I have a little RG 13 from raco that is a fantastic little grinder for is size and cost, 2 of us have carried it through a customers house before so not too heavy, it wont take up the whole back of your van so you can still get chip in and not need a second vehicle all the time and I have tackled some fair size stumps with it to saver getting a bigger 1 in for just 1 job. The carlton grinder is similar bud will not have the hight adjustable handle which I find a big help.

Any bigger and the vermeer 252 is one of thebest mid size machines on the market with a proven track record.

I should really get into the habit of giving all info before asking for peoples views/recommendations

 

I dont want a pedestrian grinder, I want a self drive 3 or 4 wheel grinder

Carlton 4012 are good, I had 1 and it was great.

i run a rayco 1625 sj, along the lines of a vermeer 252. as good as the other machines out there, down to your personal choice.

 

If you can afford a bit more you could get a 38hp Laski 4 wheeler and at there price is a banging deal.

I ve got 252 and suits my business fine. Does about 80% of my stumps i when hire in smaller or larger machines for the rest. Highly reccomend one

I run bandit machines I have just perchaced the new 2250 excellent little machine no belts and no bearings on cutter wheel and very well built
