For bigger bits I use a bigger rope.

In all seriousness, it isn't a basic kit but I have 60m polydine 16mm. Impact block, a few x rings, a couple of swing cheek pulleys, various loop slings and deadeyes for pulleys etc and a Stein fixed bollard. Plus a load of steel crabs to connect bits together.

Anybody here using x rings and could they be used in place of a standard block??

I nearly use x rings all the time I can't remember the last time I used a pulley in a rigging scenario i use pulleys for re directs on the ground when pulling trees over or maybe snatching very big wood on a pole I will use a big impact block

What Set up do you have with them? Think it's only treekit that have them spliced up.

Also like the look of the shizll sling with a ring

Have a few rings would rather use pulleys personally so you can balance big limbs and crank them around on the lowering device or pretension to avoid shock loading, rarely use the rings, they run nice and smooth but seem a throw back to topping strop days.
