Put the feelers out and it seems myself and a few mates might start getting out for a ride at the weekends.

Still got my Marin in the loft but think a new saddle might be in order.any suggestions ? Thinking comfy padded springy not the razor blade thats on it atm.

Agree with Rupe on this.

In my experience all saddles hurt until you have got some miles in. Went to Baretoes bikes once and asked to buy a new one. I knew them well and he talked me out of buying a new saddle and just said do some riding and you will be fine.

A shop talking themselves out of a sale :001_huh:

Pat I am not saying don't change it but don't expect any of them to be very comfy to start with. The other awkward thing is what is comfy for a few miles is not always what's comfy for 100 miles. Most riders who clock up a lot of miles end up pretty narrow seats.

Me too originally. Got a wii and several different fitness things like boxing and toning up and really aching arms so must be working!

Forgive me if we've covered this before but do you climb trees for a living or do you operate a desk?

Lee. I'm sure you know the boring truth that cutting alcohol will be the fastest way of losing a stone. Depending on how much you drink (if you do?) a bit of cutting back plus exercise and a stone could go easily in six months or less but the slower you lose it the more chance of keeping it off.

Then bread would be the next worse thing IMO. I simply stopped buying bread at home. Rye bread only, but you can't really make sandwiches with rye bread. So I'll have the odd bit of bread while out but I can't scoff a load at home. Makes me sleepy now if I have it anyway.

I operate a van. Do lots of work for water companies fitting monitoring devices. I do confined spaces rescue ( breathing app) and waterway monitoring and clearance.

As far as trees go i suppose you could say i manage my uncles wood near ledbury. Not certed but learning lots and rather keen on woodland crafts. Lucky enough to have several days a month learning horse logging nearby.

Kind of a woodland enthusiast. Always interesting to learn from you guys.
