How far have you ran/cycled/swam today?

Recommended Posts

Yeah i have a small pouch so thinking hide the pump away. Get a triangle pouch and an under seat one that i have puncture repair kit in. Co2 will fit in that.

Haven't got cleats but after last few rides finding toes get painful after 30 miles thinking i ought to. Do they eliminate that

You don't need pump and co 2? And a spare tube is better than repair kits. You can repair at home.

Cleats are good. They nearly double your power, especially up hills. Sore toes might be due to poor shoes? Cleats and poor shoes will still hurt but decent road shoes that fit should be ok.

Wise investment!

Seriously the increase in power is amazing! You have to teach yourself to pull up with the back leg at the same time as pushing with the front (thats what turbo trainers are good for, drill sessions of just pulling etc) but eventually it becomes natural and you will fly up hills that you used to struggle on.

Well done for your triathlon rupe, just been flicking through this thread, Been out on the road bike 3 days a week for the last couple of weeks. really getting back into it been doing hill climbing intervals and 10k time trials just training and loving it again. being subby has really helped with time management. Want to start racing in the next few months again. Goal will be to get some points in some 3rd cat races :)

  • 2 weeks later...

Managed a two day trip last weekend with a couple of mates Newcastle-Carlisle via Kielder on the Riever's Route. Sustrans route no.10. signed all the way, makes route-finding easy and they tend to keep you away from busy roads. Some pretty iffy weather about, so we were pleased to avoid a proper soaking and ended up with mostly sun.

55 miles day 1, 75 day 2

Like that pat!

Did my second Olympic triathlon yesterday. 2 hours 34minutes so ten minutes improvement on the last one. Lake was so warm it was no wet suits which was scary but ok in the end.

Won't do another of that distance until next summer, so looking to get under two and a half hours by then.
