Hi guys i have a chippit 30 DH which kept cutting out the other day, sorted the problem that night just the ignition wires rubbing on the belts. whilst panels were off we looked over the rest of the chipper and found that the fans on the back of the fly wheel were rubbing on the back plate. Completely stripped the chipper, chassis grit blasted and galvanised, new bearings, rotor nose and new boss welded in.

Ok its an old chipper is old but there was no labour costs only parts so now i will have a fully referb chipper that doesn't owe me a thing. but the thing i want your opinion on is the colour should i have it powder coated in the original yellow or a green what do ya think.

Also I found graham at Orange plant and Richard court engineering very helpful.

At the moment the trucks not written up as the money's now been spent on the chipper. Im affraid the truck looks pikey with no writing on its a white transit crewcab and the back is ali. my logos green with a leaf in it. I reckon the yellow is better because it stands out esp if working on the highway but my girlfreind is set on it being green..... Bloody women!!!

Im going to get the cab wrapped with some design but not sure yet.

Just wondered what you guys thort about colour before i spend the cash, thanks.

I quite like a golden yellow, like JCB paint their equipment nowadays, not the piss yellow entecs used to be.

It stands out well as plant. Mind, I saw a big Conehead at the factory painted in a blue / green flip tone, and that looked pretty awesome.

Thanks for the advice, i spoke to the powder coating guy and baisicly i have the choice of the colours he has in stock which would be cheeper or he orders more in and i pay more. It doesn't help that im colour blind either!!! I just want it to look good.

Yorkshire man your sign writeing is verry good straight to the point. do you have an idear of how much work gets pulled in just buy people takeing your number down. Also when your chipping do you put greedy boards up so the chip doesn't go every where or just chip on the back?

Whats a conehead ? ive not heard of that before.

This is my truck.
