Which bigger stihl saw ??

I have a 460, it has the grunt and is not as heavy or as thirsty as a 660. I think it is a brilliant advance on the 440, which was really good.

 

yeh, i loved the 460, just want the option to run a 30" maybe a 36" so thats edging me closer to the 660.!!

If i could only choose 1 big saw it would be the 660. All bars from 20" upto 36" covered in one saw, or as we call them here, the hand of god!

441's a nice saw used a few different ones now and it suprises it me it gets such a bad rep... I used to really like the 460 but since I have stopped using it I have noticed my hands and fingers don't cramp up hardly at all any more .. They have pretty poor anti vibes IMO.

I use a 441 on 25" bar and 660 0n 30" bar, love both wouldn't part with either of them:biggrin:

spend the extra and get the 660. always have the option for a bigger bar then. i run a 660 on a 20" as my main ground saw and will never look back to anything else, but thats just me....

Nothing wrong with the 261 mate ,

absolutly rinses the 346 xp, all day long, a mate of mine had a 346 same time as i got my 261 he wished he went for the 261 now, ,

 

thats funny,, every 1 i know with a 261 all rush to pick up my 346xp, my work mates 261 has eaten 4 sets roller bearings in 8 months, along with my other coluges and his 362 has eaten 2 sets, they just feels cheap,,, i was offered a brand new 362 and i asked if i could have the old battered 361 instead,

reliabilty isnt an argument with both brands any more

what it comes down to is personall choice, ease of spares and local dealers.

i own and use all 3 if i wanted to run a 20inch bar 441 nice alround saw dont really thing the 441 has the gut for a 25inch bar

460 great saw loads of power i run mine on a 20inch bar but i will handel a 25inch nice to like matty said the anty vibs ent great but if ur out for a saw that will do pritty much everything then a 460 good power to weight for felling and ringing up

 

if ur thinking more about 25inch and the 30inch in the back of ur mine 660 is the way forward mine always wheres the 25inch bar loads of power and cuts really quick

if u like using ur 261 then spend the money and get a 660 if u ever want a 36inch bar it will have that 2

and then if u want somthing in the middle at a later date to fill the gap husq 560 great saw im a stihl man and thinking about buying one

if you really want a saw that will run everything the 660 is the way to go, you could always change the sprocket and run a .325" 13" bar!
