Evening all, Just wondering if many wear glasses at work?

I wear glasses but not for work, but have decided after a well overdue eye test that i'm going to start using glasses more, it's silly not to.

I'm not blind, can see ok, used to get headaches due to a lazy eye.

So:

No glasses..... No point in this option

Glasses...... risk of coming off, what they like in the rain?

Contact lenses..... waste of time, i'm always getting stuff in my eyes and rubbing them.

Laser eye treatment.... ?

What do you do or have done?

Cheers Chris

Glasses are a nightmare in the rain especiall when youv got dirty hands so you cant even wipe them without smearing dirt on them, I wear them and hate them, tried contacts but they were forever coming out or tearing whilst in the eye because of dirt/sawdust ingress,

Love the sound of laser but im not brave enough to do it!

I dont find glasses come of much though even when climbing, although the other day I was digging a 4 ft hole for a post and because of me sweating they slipped of into the hole, made me chuckle.

I have worn contact lenses for the last eight years, every now and then I get a bit of dust or muck but the lense seems to funtion well and the dust or muck comes out no problem.:thumbup1: As to laser treatment I looked into the procedure and didn't like the possiblity of the treatment going wrong and it could quite easily, very painfull.

I wear glasses and the only thing that bugs me is the sweat running down the lens, or fogging up on a cold day. Apart from that it's not so bad, a fact of getting older I suppose.

Yeah sweat drips can be pain in't th'ass.

I have had my eyes lasered and I would honestly recommend it to anyone (if yer man enough!).

It is a weird sensation when they put the eye clamps in - it makes you freak out a little (or it did me in any case). And when they slice the eye open.... Well that really messes with your head!

All gore aside, I went from having really bad night vision (nearly crashed into a lorry on an unlit section of the M6 at night because I didn't see it) and not being able to read a numberplate unless it was about 4 metres away or less, to now having 20/12 vision (20/12 is much better than 20/20 vision and in fact is the theoretical limit of what a human eye can see. Ive said it before, I can see a gnats todger from a 1000 yards!).

There was a bit of discomfort on the day of the op yes, but I got over it and now am reaping the benefits. I had it done about 15 years ago. I was told that it may last only 12 years or so before I need them re-lasered, but my eyes are still perfect following the op. If they start to go a bit wobbly again, Ill go straight back for another go.

If nothing else, Ive saved myself a ton of money on glasses or contacts over the years, so from a financial perspective it makes sense too.

Go on, do it. I dare ya!
