The way the weather is at the moment its a good time to ask this. I have never got on climbing with a coat. With a waterproof coat you land up with wet leg quicker as the rain runs off the coat.

We have been using the Harkie for 4 months now and its certainly the best we've come across, far better than Stein and orange is definetly the colour for arb work and cheaper than cut and climb.

nope i don't have a budget, i figured with the weather at the mo i'm kinda willing to pay anything to stay dry, well within reason. ahh no way, i thought that your legs would stay dryer with a coat on, hmm maybe they should do waterproof onsie's. :) thanks for the help, now having a look at the coats. x

Yeah I did notice a light shower or two as I looked out of the conservatory with my feet up and book in hand! Only joking, it's miserable getting soaked whilst working.

Stein are comfy, but when push comes to shove they are not waterproof.

Great at first, sieve-like after a few weeks.

The Clark jacket is meant to be very good.

I have the Country Covers field smock, which is the best waterproof for tree work I have had. £125, mind.
